MAGL (Monoacylglycerol Lipase) is an enzyme that breaks down the endocannabinoid 2-AG. A variety of compounds inhibit this enzyme, and they have the effect of increasing the amount of 2-A active in an organism.

MAGL breaks down 2-AG into arachidonic acid, and can be considered a gateway between the endocannabinoid system and the eicosanoid system.
